Spring Cleaning Time! I’m often asked about dextox and cleansing One of the best ways to keep your digestive system free of debris and cling-on grossness is using Psyllium Husks. Psyllium is the main ingredient in Metamucil, in addition to colorings, preservatives artificial sweeteners and sugar. Psyllium is what's known as insoluble fiber: We can't break it down, so it passes through our intestinal tract in tact, essentially "sweeping" up debris on it's way out of our system.
DIRECTIONS: Take 1 tablespoon of psyllium, mix it well into 4-6 ounces of apple cider. Chase it down with another 2 glasses of water.
Because psyllium swells with liquid, it's best to drink copious amounts of water or cramping may ensue.
There are other, more complicated ways to spring cleanse and detox but for daily balance and regular bowel movements, psyllium husk is cheap, easy and very effective.
